Saturday Night Live

Point: When it comes to jokes or women, I can never resist the cheap ones. Are you cheap? …

Counterpoint: I treat my men like horses; I ride them hard and turn them out. …

I love the ladies! Let a playa, play!

Saturday was a long day. I woke up early and worked at my third job as technical support representative for the family. It’s a very hands on sort of job. I have to do on-site work as well as a lot of phone support. This job was an issue with a wireless networking environment. It was a particularly sticky situation, since part of the system had been recently upgraded and everything was working earlier in the week. I tweaked the system through the different settings screens with no success. Just before getting very, very, very frustrated; I decided to power down and power back up like in those stupid cable company commercials. It worked too. Everything was good to go, and the family could get back to fraggin’ noobs online. I vegged out a little after that by using some TV and radio noise to help me pass the time. I realized it was after 1pm, so the post office was closed. I need to pick up a few stamps and mail a priority envelope, but there’s no hurry with either. I chillaxed a little longer before busting out a shave, which is not the easiest thing to do on one leg. With the leg in a splint, taking a shower is a bit of a challenge also. SOME people would have you wrap up the injured leg in a plastic bag. Think about it, now you have a useless appendage that is covered in wet, slick material. If it accidentally hits the ground, you have a 75% chance of slipping which could result in a concussion and further work absences. I take a slightly different approach by hanging the left leg out of the shower. There’s a little water on the floor, but it’s easy to dry off the splint and floor before getting out of the shower. And it works for me. I did a few more chores including moving my old computer that I built a few years ago to my parents’ house. I should have my new computer up and running any day now. I headed down to Marikka’s to meet Adam (AC) and some of his friends. I was a 9th wheel (to the four couples), but I made the best of it. It felt good to be out and just hanging out. We hung out at a couple of tables just chatting for most of the night. The fellas played some pool and I joined a little Round Robin of air hockey (while sitting in a chair). I know I’m going to catch some shit, but by the end of the night I could feel a little pain in the foot region (when I got home, I verified some minor swelling that went down within an hour). I didn’t stay out as late as I used to (around 11:45pm) thanks to semi-old age and the injury. I had a great time while I was there, though. Check out the pics and let me know if you have comments/suggestions or questions. Holla at your boy!
