March Madness in April?

Last dance. Last chance for a Title …

So, here it is the first week of April and March Madness is about to come to a screeching halt. Going into Saturday’s Final Four games, I was in second place in the Toys “R” Us ESPN Tournament Challenge pool. I figured out the exact scenario that I needed in order to win the money. The first game on Saturday was irrelevant. I had UCLA as the winner (and the eventual National Champion), but no one except Marc picked Memphis and he was pretty far back. The nightcap was the important thing. I NEEDED North Carolina to win and then lose in the title game. A NC win on Saturday would have put me ahead of Phil. As long as NC did not win on Monday, I remained atop the leader board. If NC were to turn around and win it all, then there were a couple of people that would have tied for the lead. By now you know that nothing good came of my plotting and scheming. North Carolina did not win and since UCLA lost the first game, I have no points remaining and have fallen back to fifth with a chance to drop even further. Oh well, there’s always next year. But in an alternate universe I bet I could have picked the National Title game correctly …

Pick a card any card. Reveal the King and win a prize …

I did a second bracket on ESPN. I picked the teams directly after picking my other bracket, but I tried to put those picks out of my mind. I did pretty well, I guess. I am currently ranked 275 in the world with a chance to move up if Memphis wins it all. Of course if Kansas wins, I’ll probably slip a little bit. It’s just nice to be in this position this late in the season. I’d like to thank all the people that helped me along the way. It’s just an honor to be nominated.
