Progress Report

I think I can. I think I can …

Last week was not a good week. It was a great week! I weighed in on Monday and had lost another 6 lbs for a total of over 21 lbs this year. Mike came over Sunday night and we had a good workout with some new exercises, some of which should really help with volleyball. I’ve done really well with the challenge he posed to me. Tuesday was the only day in the last 10 that I have not done any type of exercise. I was worn out when I woke up Tuesday morning, so I skipped the bike. After another hectic day at work, Ryder sponsored a celebration at the Embassy Suites in Lexington to congratulate the team on a handful of awards from the past 6 months. I organized the event, so you know there was a bar. With Ryder picking up the tab, I took some liberties that I might not have otherwise. I was pretty sauced by the time I got home, so I put in a movie and then went to bed early. I felt rested when I woke up early Wednesday, so I knocked out a full hour on the bike in the morning. Mike came over after work on Wednesday and we worked out before the UK game. I went to the parents to watch the game, so it was late when I got back home. I watched some TV and read before bed. I felt bad for missing some bike time, so when I woke up early this morning I hit the bike for 90 minutes to make up for missing the night before. As of the morning of the 6th, I have logged a total of 140 miles since the beginning of the month. I still have a ways to go, but I’m making pretty good progress so far. I haven’t done much as far as changing what I’m eating recently. I’m still keeping an eye on the empty calories in juice and have been eating mostly ham that I cooked in the crock pot. I’m planning on getting some chicken and pasta to go with the hamburgers I have in the freezer. I’ve got a bunch of vegetables and some fruit cocktail to help fill in some of the corners. I’m drinking lots of water and just a glass of juice in the morning. For treats, I’ve got a couple of 3 Musketeers bars in the fridge and some no sugar added ice cream.
