Mandom Ran

Take me drunk I'm home ...

Yesterday was Brian's annual tailgate for a UL football game. It was UL versus the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers. I had no interest in the game and have been to more than one of his tailgates and not remember anything that happened inside the stadium. Being a Thursday evening game was a little different. I left work early, but it was close to dark by the time I got to the lot. It was also getting cold. I had a sweatshirt, but I didn't want to put it on until I got into the game. Vic was already there with his family. So I parked and started drinking on some bourbon. I then went down to check on some Jello shots and say Hi to Brian. I kept sipping on some bourbon and doing jello shots for the first hour. Then I got a plate of KFC and some more jello shots. I followed that up with some bourbon and more jello shots. The train came by at 7:30 and announced last call, so we headed down the hill while doing jello shots to hitch a ride. We put a couple of shots in our pockets and boarded the train. After we got inside the stadium, we did the last of our jello shots and then headed towards our seats. The UL fans were chanting something at the Rutgers fans, so I started my own chant. "You can't spell drunk without UK!" I had on my CATS hat that was jokingly jostled a few times, but it was all in good fun. We got to our seats and UL was already down. Some of the Rutgers fan talked to me because I was wearing my UK hat. A couple of UL fans even showed they were CATS fans! Yeah! The game looked pretty one sided in the first quarter. Rutgers was putting the spurs to the Cards. The second quarter looked like the beginning of the end with the Knights scoring with 1 minute remaining. Louisville showed some life though and put up 7 before half time. That's when we decided it was too cold to care (or at least that was my take). We all walked back to the lot and I got ready to head home. The Green Bay/Dallas game was on Sirius, so I switched that on for the drive. Traffic wasn't bad except for a couple of slow left-lane drivers. Got to the parent's house by 11 and snuggled into the homestead shortly thereafter.

UL Game Ticket
Jello Shots
KFC buffet
Budweiser aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa $40
Parking aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa $10
Showing Support for the CATS at a rival stadium aaaaa Priceless!

Things are going pretty well otherwise. Workouts have been pretty consistent with 2 or 3 a week. Tonight I'll swing by Walmart on the way to Phil's and pick up the stepper I just bought. Hopefully, I can get that put together and continue the fight at home. Fantasy football was the usual mixed bag. In the TRU league, that shitty game on Monday night gave me the win over Mike. Pittsburgh pitching the shutout and then getting 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries was just enough to notch the W. Brady came through Sunday night and went for 380 yards to counter Favre's 381 for Mike, so I'm still the passing yardage leader. The same could not be said in the Marikka's league. As usual, there are a couple of decent players and then several that lay an egg. Hopefully, Derrick Ward and a few of the defensive players will come back to help me out this week. Work is going great. Except for a little hiccup tomorrow. I am involved in a Kaizen challenge to save the company money. Everyone is divided into teams and then you come up with a project to streamline a process and save Ryder money. That's a great idea, except for the presentations are on a Saturday morning. And it so happens that this particular Saturday there is a basketball game against a little school from North Carolina. It looks like I'll probably end up missing the beginning of the game, but I'll see all of the second half in its entirety. That's about all the fun and excitement that's going on. Looking forward to Superbad next week. If you haven't seen it, its hilarious!
