Prom Night

Last night while my punk ass friends, who give me hell about my blog were sitting at home or asleep, I went to Marikka's 1st annual Prom Night. Admittedly, I have not been to Marikka's in a while, but I was there last night. Since you pussies didn't make it let me set it up for you:

I walked in the back door (no jokes - via the volleyball court) and it looked like a Black-less crowd. I ordered the usual (a double Maker's and diet) from none other than Marikka Marikka. After getting a drink and starting a tab, I bumped into Doug Jr. He was wearing his 'going to court clothes.' Doug Jr. was wearing a suit! I talked to him for a few minutes and then attempted to mingle. There were few people there that I recognized (mostly from volleyball), so I decided to check out the goings on with this Prom thing. There was a reflective background against one of the dart board areas with some streamers and other decorations. Sarah, a bartender at Marikka's came up with the idea for Prom Night, had decorated the place and it looked festive. Doug Jr. was the sleazy photographer and I was the perverted bystander. Doug asked me to be a judge for the King/Queen competition. I was less than sober, but alert enough to know that having 4 judges left a possible deadlock issue. Doug ignored me and we proceeded with the competition. All the contestants were to meet on the dance floor and fight it out. Picking the King was easy, a guy in a top hat with a cane was unanimous choice for King. The Queen vote was split down the middle between two contestants. Doug had to get his MOTHER to break the tie which was a little weird. I was called upon to announce the King and Queen as well as request that they take their first dance. After another hour, I skipped out, but I had a lot of fun. Marikka's is planning on having more theme evenings, so get yourself ready.

As an aside, Marikka's will have an evening volleyball league for those bastard friends of mine that can't handle staying up past 10:30 in the pm.

BTW, Thanks to Lisa for helping me with my insanity. The only reason I don't have pictures of Prom Night is I left my camera at the Schandings. I looked for literally minutes for it. And on second note, it's nice to have comments from people that aren't selling steroids.
