MBA news
abccd The MBA program has kept me on my toes of late. I’ll give you a little rundown of what’s going on during this “module.” 2 weeks ago, we had an introductory Economics class that lasted for 1 week. We had 3 quizzes and a presentation during the course of that week. It was somewhat interesting, but most of what we went over was a review of the Econ classes I had already taken. Right now I’m taking a class consisting of Accounting, Marketing, Management Information Systems, Finance and Human Resources rolled into 1 that lasts for another 3 weeks. In addition to this conglomeration, I am participating in a Business Simulation. We start out at the beginning of Year 1 as the head of 1 of 6 equivalent companies. You have to make decisions regarding Research & Development, Marketing (promotion and sales budget and allocation), Production, Human Resources and Finance in order to get ahead of the other companies. I have been pretty consumed with that, because the interaction of business functions and the results that follow are things I am interested in for the future. After this section is finished, there is another week of Economics with the same format as before. I also work a half night on Thursdays and all night on Fridays at Toyota in Georgetown. That makes for some long weeks, but I have vowed to have a little more balance with a personal life (according to Phil that means blog-time). That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
